PELLETS
A single 9.07 kg Bag of BBQr’s Delight Hickory Pellets, cooking at 225F / 107C will last you between 12 – 14 hours, maybe 15 hours of cooking and for high temp grilling a few steaks you will only use around 2-3 handfuls of pellets.
BBQR’s Delight Pellets and their significant advantages over other brands
- BBQR’s Delight are the only pellets that Yoder Smokers in USA recommends.
- BBQR’s Delight Hickory Pellets are the exact pellet that Yoder use for tuning & all R&D for YS pellet grills
- BBQR’s Delight pellets contain NO Alder or other Softwoods ( BBQR’s Delight Pellets base wood is Red Oak ) Alder is a ‘soft hardwood’ and leaves behind a mountain of ash as do other Softwoods which can lead to auger burn back & hopper box fires as well as other issues.
- BBQR’s Delight do not produce ‘Signature Blends’ etc where the blend changes from one season to the next depending on which timber is cheaper or easier to obtain.
- BBQR’s Delight pellets are made from exactly the same blend year in, year out which is one third flavour-wood & two thirds red oak.
- BBQR’s Delight Harwood pellets give you longer burn times with less ash build up & more consistent results.
- Some of the other US Manufactured Pellets ( branded by other Chinese Pellet BBQ Manufacturers ) and imported into Australia are also poor & do not burn as hot, cause more ash and more problems.
- BBQR’s Delight pellets contain no bark. Cheaper pellets manufactured leaving bark on gives shorter burn times & creates more ash.
- Locally produced / Australian pellets produced from Redgum or Ironbark can wear & damage your auger due to their hardness. All pellets are varied in length and the auger will break the longer ones in half & this is normal.
- In summary, Pellets that are too soft are no good & pellets that are too hard are also no good for your Yoder.
